The bug

Firstly, I think it's great that the local images are now also displayed in the app.
I only use the external library and save the images from my smartphone to it myself.
To be able to display the local images, I selected the folder to be backed up. However, I did not activate the backup for the reasons mentioned above.
The problem now is that the local images, when saved externally, are still displayed together with the external images. So everything is duplicated.

I'd also like to see if there's a solution to this.

At the moment I'm using Nextcloud to backup my photos, using the directory as an "External Library" in Immich. When Immich is a bit more mature, perhaps I'll switch to using it instead, but for now I have a good system in place for my family.

I realize the massive challenge this involves, but I think this feature would be great. Perhaps a simple hash of the files could be compared?
